When You Feel Undeserving and Overwhelmed—God Still Says, “You’ll Be Okay”

There are moments in motherhood—maybe more than we’d like to admit—when the weight of it all crashes down. The dishes are piled, your toddler is crying, someone’s sick again, and you’re behind on everything. You’re running on empty and still wondering if you're enough.

And if you're anything like me, somewhere in the noise, a quiet voice whispers: "You're not doing this right."Or worse: "You don't deserve help."

The overwhelm isn’t just about tasks. It’s the deeper ache—the fear that you’re not worthy of rest, support, or grace. That if you were a little stronger, a little holier, a little more organized, this wouldn't feel so hard.

But friend, God doesn’t wait for us to feel worthy before He comes close.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”— Matthew 11:28

Notice that Jesus doesn’t say, “Come to me when you’ve got it together. ‘He says “weary.” He says “burdened.”That means you, right now, even with your doubts, your exhaustion, your undone to-do list, and your whispered "I'm not enough."

God’s promises aren’t based on how deserving we feel—they’re based on who He is. And He is a loving Father who meets us in the middle of the mess and says:"You will be okay, because I am with you."

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God;I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”— Isaiah 41:10

Even when life feels like too much, God is enough. Even when you feel unworthy, His grace is already on its way. Even when the world says you’re falling behind, He says you’re held.

So if you're reading this with tears in your eyes, with a weary heart, wondering if it’s okay to admit that you’re overwhelmed—this is your reminder: You don’t have to do it all. You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to earn rest or reassurance.

God promises you’ll be okay—not because you’re strong, but because He is.

Mom Takeaway: You are not alone in your overwhelm. God sees you, loves you, and walks with you—even when you feel undeserving. His grace is for right now. And His promise? You’re going to be okay.
